Meghan Markle has received an unexpected boost today after a difficult week. On Wednesday, Meghan\u2019s Netflix series \u201cWith Love, Meghan\u201d aired its holiday special episode<\/a>, which saw the Duchess of Sussex enjoy Christmas traditions.<\/p>\n

This included picking out a tree, decorating wreaths and making Christmas crackers and tasty goodies. The episode saw the duchess, 44, be joined by loved ones for the show, including her husband Prince Harry<\/a> who made a very brief cameo.<\/a><\/p>\n

While the duchess always tends to receive some form of criticism<\/a> for her Netflix<\/a> show, the episode is currently doing well in the Netflix ratings, with it being ranked in the top 10 series on the streaming service today.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As of Saturday, the episode – which is part of the \u201cWith Love, Meghan\u201d series – currently ranks in eighth place.<\/p>\n

This is an unexpected piece of good news for the duchess, who is no doubt having a slightly difficult week.<\/p>\n

This is because her estranged father Thomas Markle, 81, is currently in hospital<\/a> in the Philippines after needing an emergency operation to save his life.<\/p>\n

It has been reported that the operation has seen Thomas have his leg amputated, with Meghan now having reached out to him<\/a> for the first time in seven years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It is believed Meghan has personally contacted her father, but the details of what was said has not been shared.<\/p>\n

It is also not known whether this contact could end the estrangement between father and daughter, which began in 2018.<\/p>\n

Meghan has not posted anything about her father on Instagram<\/a>, however she shared a clip on Friday giving fans a behind-the-scenes look of her latest Netflix episode.<\/p>\n

She captioned the short clip: \u201cA little behind the scenes of the holiday special for \u2018With Love, Meghan\u2019 on @netflix. So much love for this crew and the magic we created together. Happy holidays!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
