Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is expected to make his first public appearance since being stripped of his royal titles and evicted from his lavish 31-bedroom residence.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The former prince will reportedly attend his granddaughter Athena\u2019s baptism on Friday at St James\u2019s Palace in Westminster alongside his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The ceremony will take place in the Chapel Royal, where Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, have arranged an intimate gathering for their second daughter\u2019s christening.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to the Mail on Sunday<\/a>, the prospect of Mr Mountbatten-Windsor\u2019s presence has caused unease among some attendees.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

One insider admitted that \u201ceveryone is dreading the thought of seeing Andrew there\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Another source revealed that Beatrice\u2019s relationship with her father has become strained.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201c\u2018Beatrice has, of course, invited her father. But things are not warm between them. However, she\u2019s worried about him. Diplomacy behind the scenes has reportedly been essential, with some \u201ccareful conversations\u201d had with King Charles needed to make the gathering possible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In late October, Charles censured his younger brother of his \u201cprince\u201d title and ordered him and Ferguson to \u201cmove to alternate private accommodation\u201d following renewed scrutiny of Mr Mountbatten-Windsor\u2019s ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Although the King received an invitation to the baptism, he is not expected to attend. The Wales family will also be absent, despite the fact that Princes George and Louis were christened in the same chapel.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Prince Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank will be present, along with several European royals, including Princess Nina of Greece and Denmark, who is one of Athena\u2019s godparents..<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While Mr Mountbatten-Windsor is likely to be spotted leaving and returning to the Royal Lodge in Windsor, he will not appear in any official photographs from the event and is set to avoid cameras around the chapel.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
