Egan\u2019s long career began back in 1969, and he went on to release more than 30 albums. But that was not all that he achieved during his remarkable life. He authored 17 books, had a six-part TV series called \u201cThis Land Australia,\u201d hosted \u201cThe Great Outdoors\u201d show, and even got into public service working as the Administrator of the Northern Territory from 2003 through 2007. <\/p>\n
ABC.net of Australia called him \u201ca pioneer of Australian folks and country music,\u201d who \u201cwasn\u2019t afraid to confront the hard truths of northern Australia\u2019s history.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will miss you Ted, long live the legacy of The Outback Song Man,\u201d musician Matt Scullion wrote on social media. <\/p>\n
