Melanie \u201cMel\u201d Day is new to \u201cTracker\u201d this season, but you might recognize the actress who plays her.<\/p>\n
Cassady McClincy Zhang <\/b>previously played Lydia on seasons 9-11 of \u201cThe Walking Dead.\u201d She\u2019s also made appearances on \u201cChicago Med\u201d<\/a> (Ariel Sparkman), \u201cCastle Rock\u201d (Young Molly Strand), \u201cOzark\u201d (Anna Sloan), \u201cDaytime Divas\u201d (Tandy Ainsley) and the 2018 film \u201cLove Simon\u201d (Jackie). <\/p>\n Season 3 of \u201cTracker,\u201d which kicked off in October, is McClincy Zhang\u2019s first major role since \u201cThe Walking Dead\u201d came to an end in 2022. Fans have suspicions about her character Mel<\/a>, who is Reenie\u2019s (Fiona Rene) new assistant. <\/p>\n When Mel interviewed for the job during a November episode, she seemed a little too <\/i>interested in Reenie\u2019s work with Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley), a professional \u201crewardist\u201d who uses his tracking skills to assist law enforcement and private citizens in exchange for reward money. <\/p>\n Mel told Reenie that she appreciates Colter\u2019s unorthodox approach to solving cases because traditional law enforcement has let her down in the past. Or, highest on the list right now, [Colter] or his brother have or are suspected to have something to do with her mothers death,\u201d one fan theorized via Reddit<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cShe blames Colter for her mother\u2019s death for some reason,\u201d another person agreed.<\/p>\n It seems unlikely that \u201cTracker\u201d would introduce Mel unless she\u2019s going to serve a purpose in the story.
