Actress and filmmaker Parvathy Thiruvothu took to her Instagram Stories and posted, “Avalkoppam (With her) forever.” In her next IG Story, she wrote “Justice What? We are witnessing a meticulously crafted script unfold so cruelly now.” For those unaware, she is one of the founding members of the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC). <\/p>\n

Ahead of the court’s ruling, Chinmayi Sripaada took to her X account and posted, “Whichever way this verdict today \u2013 I stand with the survivor. Always. Girl, you are a hero, you have been and always will be. I hope all those who pretended to stand for you and changed their statements in court when it mattered, including the women \u2013 get what they deserve.” <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, after the backlash on social media over the court’s decision, Law Minister P. Rajeev stated that he had a word with the CM and the government has decided to appeal the court’s verdict.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) has issued a statement that reads, “Let the law move in the path of justice. We respect the court.”For the unversed, the court has convicted the six accused on different charges, while actor Dileep, who was listed as the eighth accused, was acquitted. <\/p>\n
