Season 2 of \u201cLandman\u201d is less than halfway over, but Paramount+ has already made an announcement about the next chapter. <\/p>\n

\u201cLandman\u201d has officially been renewed for season 3<\/b>. The news is unsurprising seeing as the show\u2019s star, Billy Bob Thornton<\/a> (Tommy Norris), told USA Today<\/a> that he signed a contract for \u201cfour or five years.\u201d Sam Elliott, who plays Thornton\u2019s father<\/a> on season 2, signed a two-year contract.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re talking about season 2, but that\u2019s backstory for us at this point. We\u2019re all kind of looking toward April and May when we start shooting season 3,\u201d Elliott told Extra TV<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n

If Elliott is correct about the filming dates for season 3, the new season of \u201cLandman\u201d could premiere as early as fall 2026. The first two seasons debuted one year apart, in November 2024 and November 2025, so a November 2026 premiere date would make sense for season 3.<\/p>\n

\u201cLandman\u201d follows Thornton\u2019s character, Tommy, a fixer for the fictional oil company M-Tex. Tommy\u2019s industry is lucrative, but it\u2019s also messy. He\u2019s never truly off the clock as he deals with employees injured on the job, lawsuits, cartel activity, and economic volatility.<\/p>\n

Season 2 has revealed more of Tommy\u2019s backstory<\/a>, introducing viewers to his aging father (Elliott) after the death of his estranged mother. Series co-creator Christian Wallace recently told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> that the first two seasons are \u201cstill just skimming the surface\u201d of the show\u2019s full potential.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur cast has added so much depth to the characters. They know them so well now that they make it easy to tell an entertaining story,\u201d Wallace said.<\/p>\n

In addition to Thornton and Elliott, \u201cLandman\u201d stars Ali Larter (Angela Norris), Jacob Lofland (Cooper Norris), Michelle Randolph (Ainsley Norris), Paulina Chavez (Ariana Medina), Kayla Wallace<\/a> (Rebecca Falcone) and Demi Moore (Cami Miller).<\/p>\n

New episodes of \u201cLandman\u201d <\/b><\/i>premiere on Paramount+<\/b><\/i><\/a> on Sundays at 3 a.m. ET.<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n
