Two well-known Massachusetts actresses are up for Golden Globes in 2026, with one nominated in a new award category.<\/p>\n
For her role as chef Sydney Adamu in FX on Hulu\u2019s \u201cThe Bear,\u201d Dorchester native Ayo Edebiri earned her third<\/a> Golden Globe nomination in the category of \u201cBest Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.\u201d <\/p>\n The 2026 Golden Globe nominations were announced Monday, Dec. 8.<\/p>\n Edebiri was first nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in the Chicago-based comedy drama back in 2023<\/a>, and won the award at the 81st Golden Globes in early 2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n She was later nominated for a second time in late 2024, but lost<\/a> to Jean Smart of HBO Max\u2019s \u201cHacks\u201d in the \u201cBest Actress in a TV Comedy or Musical\u201d category for the 82nd Golden Globes earlier this year.<\/p>\n Edebiri now stands a third chance at awards glory at the 83rd Golden Globes on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026.<\/p>\n She is up against Kristen Bell<\/a> in Netflix\u2019s \u201cNobody Wants This,\u201d Selena Gomez in Hulu\u2019s \u201cOnly Murders in the Building,\u201d Natasha Lyonne in Peacock\u2019s \u201cPoker Face,\u201d Jenna Ortega in Netflix\u2019s \u201cWednesday\u201d and, once again, reigning winner Jean Smart in \u201cHacks.\u201d<\/p>\n Fellow Massachusetts native Amy Poehler, who is from Burlington, received her fourth Golden Globe nomination on Monday \u2014 but in a category distinct from all of her previous nominations.<\/p>\n \u201cGood Hang with Amy Poehler<\/a>\u201a\u201d Poehler\u2019s podcast that launched in March, is nominated in the awards show\u2019s inaugural \u201cBest Podcast\u201d category.<\/p>\n Poehler\u2019s podcast is being recognized alongside \u201cArmchair Expert with Dax Shepard,\u201d \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d hosted by Alex Cooper, \u201cThe Mel Robbins Podcast,\u201d \u201cUp First from NPR\u201d and \u201cSmartLess\u201d hosted by actors Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett \u2014 the latter of whom is Poehler\u2019s ex-husband.<\/p>\n Poehler was previously nominated<\/a> for three Golden Globes for her role as Leslie Knope on the NBC mockumentary series \u201cParks and Recreation\u201d in the \u201cBest Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy\u201d category.<\/p>\n After two nominations for the 2012 and 2013 ceremonies, Poehler won the award in 2014.<\/p>\n The 83rd Golden Globe Awards will be hosted once again<\/a> by comedian Nikki Glaser and will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. The show will be broadcast on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.<\/p>\n\n
