A music legend\u2019s new \u201cdocu-concert\u201d is set to make its world premiere in Central New York.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Phil Collins Story,\u201d celebrating the life, career and music of Phil Collins, will debut Feb. 3 at the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse, N.Y. The show, chronicling his songs from Genesis<\/a> to his solo works, will begin at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 12, at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster<\/a>. Prices have not been announced.<\/p>\n

According to a press release, \u201cThe Phil Collins Story\u201d is a part documentary, part concert experience that pays tribute to Collins “in a way that resonates with audiences through powerful visuals and emotional storytelling. This immersive musical journey features talent from around the world, state-of-the-art audio, dynamic projections, and intricate lighting design.”<\/p>\n

The Syracuse event will kick off a 55-city North American tour, which also includes shows Feb. 12-15 in Niagara Falls, Ontario; Feb. 26 in Rochester; and March 1 in Peekskill.<\/p>\n

Collins, 74, is considered one of the greatest drummers of all time and was the lead singer of Genesis hits like \u201cFollow You Follow Me,\u201d \u201cI Can\u2019t Dance\u201d and \u201cInvisible Touch.\u201d His solo works include \u201cIn the Air Tonight,\u201d \u201cEasy Lover\u201d (with Philip Bailey), \u201cSussudio,\u201d \u201cAgainst All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now),\u201d and Disney\u2019s \u201cTarzan\u201d soundtrack (featuring the Oscar-winning song \u201cYou\u2019ll Be in My Heart\u201d).<\/p>\n

Collins also performed with Brand X, played drums on \u201cDo They Know It\u2019s Christmas?\u201d for Band Aid, and appeared in films and TV shows like \u201cMiami Vice,\u201d \u201cHook\u201d and \u201cChitty Chitty Bang Bang.\u201d He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (with Genesis) and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, plus won eight Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes and a Disney Legend Award.<\/p>\n

Collins last performed in 2022 after health issues forced him into retirement. He started using a cane to walk in 2015 after major surgeries on his back and neck, and was later diagnosed with drop-foot, a condition that left him without feeling in one of his feet.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I can\u2019t do what I did as well as I did it, I\u2019d rather relax and not do anything,\u201d Collins said<\/a> in the 2024 documentary, \u201cPhil Collins: Drummer First.\u201d \u201cIf I wake up one day and I can hold a pair of drumsticks, then I\u2019ll have a crack at it. But I just feel like I\u2019ve used up my air miles.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
