It’s that time of year again and, if you’re still finalising your Christmas card<\/a> list, there’s one more name to consider adding (especially if you’re hoping for a reply) – The Princess of Wales<\/a>. Anyone can write letters to members of the Royal Family and, if sent during the Christmas period, you could receive a festive response from the relevant royal office – in this case, Kate’s.<\/p>\n

So, if you want to send a Christmas card to The Princess of Wales, you can write any message you choose (there’s no strict format or protocol to follow), just make sure you don’t forget to include a return address, so you can receive a reply. The card should be posted to: <\/p>\n

It may take some time but, according to royal fan accounts and Metro<\/em>, you should receive a standard reply from Kensington Palace. It might be also nice to wish The Princess of Wales a happy birthday, as she’ll be turning 44 in January.<\/p>\n

In fact, you can write to the Royals throughout the year, not just at Christmas. The Royal Family’s own website<\/a>, for example, explains that anyone is welcome to send in a letter, as long as it’s not for political purposes or asking The King to intervene in personal disputes. He is also unable to accept gifts for security reasons. <\/p>\n

If you want to write a formal letter to The King, the website explains what the official format is but stresses that, ‘this traditional approach is by no means obligatory. You should feel free to write in whatever style you feel comfortable.’ The traditional format is to open the letter with ‘Sir’ and closing it with ‘I have the honour to be, Sir, Your Majesty’s humble and obedient servant’. <\/p>\n

The King and Queen’s official Christmas card has also now been revealed for 2025, and features a portrait of the couple taken in April, during a State Visit to Italy. Like last year, it’s a more relaxed photograph taken in nature, while their first as King and Queen featured them wearing Coronation Regalia. <\/p>\n
