Andrew Mountbatten Windsor is set to take a key role in a royal
\nevent held at one of the most prestigious palaces in London.<\/p>\n
And his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, will also have a major
\nplace at the event which could seen her come face to face with King
\nCharles just weeks after she gave up her courtesy title.<\/p>\n
Princess Beatrice, elder of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and Sarah
\nFerguson\u2019s two children, is set to have her younger child, Athena,
\nchristened in the Chapel Royal at St. James\u2019 Palace and it\u2019s
\nexpected that the baby\u2019s grandparents will be in the front row of
\nthe church for the event.<\/p>\n
Athena, 11 months, is set to be baptised in the same place as
\nPrince George and Prince Louis were christened. The Chapel Royal is
\nwithin the walls of St. James\u2019 Palace in the heart of London and
\nhas been the setting for some of the most famous royal events in
\nhistory.<\/p>\n
It was the church where Queen Victoria married Prince Albert in
\nFebruary 1840 \u2013 Princess Beatrice has a keen interest in her great,
\ngreat, great, great grandmother to whom she bears something of a
\nresemblance. Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, had
\nplanned to wed in the chapel themselves. However, their wedding was
\nmoved to Windsor because of the restrictions in the Covid
\npandemic.<\/p>\n
Another royal union is commemorated in the chapel \u2013 a ceiling
\npainting attributed to Hans Holbein commemorates the marriage of
\nHenry VIII and his fourth wife, Anne of Cleves.<\/p>\n
It was Henry VIII who acquired what is now St. James\u2019 Palace,
\nbringing it into the royal fold in 1531.<\/p>\n
It remains popular with the Royal Family for events like
\nweddings and christenings as it is behind palace walls and offers
\nfar more privacy than many other churches associated with big
\ncelebrations.<\/p>\n
The baptism will include several long standing traditions with
\nAthena set to wear the replica of the Honiton lace christening gown
\nthat was commissioned by Queen Victoria when she gave birth to her
\nown first child, Victoria, in November 1840.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s not known whether any members of the wider Royal Family
\nwill attend the christening. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie
\nwere both noticeably absent from the Christmas carol service
\norganised by the Princess of Wales last week although it is
\nunderstood both were invited.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s also not known whether either of them will be at
\nSandringham for Christmas this year. Princess Eugenie missed the
\ncelebrations last year although Princess Beatrice was there after
\ncancelling her plans to go to Italy at the last minute on the
\nadvice of doctors.<\/p>\n
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has only been seen in public briefly
\nsince he lost his HRH and title of Prince.<\/p>\n
King Charles removed those as well as the titles of Duke of
\nYork, Earl of Inverness and Baron Killyleagh after further
\ncontroversy over Andrew\u2019s relationship with convicted sex offender,
\nJeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor is also set to move out of Royal
\nLodge, the thirty room royal residence he has lived in for the last
\ntwenty years. He surrendered the lease when The King took away his
\ntitles.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s been reported that Sarah Ferguson, who shares the home with
\nhim, will move to the Cotswolds with Princess Beatrice who has a
\ngranny flat in the grounds of the house she shares with Edoardo
\nMapelli Mozzi, Athena and their older daughter, Sienna. The family
\nalso includes Wolfie, Edoardo\u2019s son from a previous marriage.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s unlikely that any photos of the christening will emerge.
\nPrincess Beatrice and Edoardo kept the baptism of their four year
\nold, Sienna, private when it took place.<\/p>\n
