A trio of shows with a seasonal slant will open in the coming days, just in time for a holly, jolly dose of yuletide tunes.<\/p>\n

The boys are back and forth<\/h3>\n

The Big Easy Boys put the cool in Yule with “Christmastime in New Orleans” at Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts and the Historic BK House and Gardens.<\/p>\n

The quartet, accompanied by the Big Easy Babes at the Kenner shows, brings a bit of nostalgia and fun to the performances of tight harmonies and fond memories with just a touch of cool to keep the season merry and bright. The new holiday revue, backed by a live band, is a compilation of favorites and holiday hits.<\/p>\n

Holiday for Dixie?<\/h3>\n

Reality television personality Marguerite “God Warrior” Perrin hits the stage for the first time in an immersive musical comedy at Caf\u00e9 Istanbul.<\/p>\n

The “Trading Spouses” veteran will star in “Dixie’s Holiday Bar” about the legendary Bourbon Street personality from the 1950s who helped the LGBT+ community of patrons and performers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The show, created by Jason Derek North and Vaughn Trudeau and written by Quinn L. Bishop, is set in 1956 for Miss Dixie’s Christmas Variety Show fundraiser to help restore the bar after a brawl. A night of cocktails, carols and merry mayhem follows.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

‘Wonderful’ at BB’s<\/h3>\n

BB’s Stage Door Canteen at The National WWII Museum has no shortage of holiday cheer, with a packed calendar with performances by the resident Victory Belles and their “Holidays in Harmony” show.<\/p>\n

But there’s always room for a little bit more cheer, and in keeping with the style of the times, the canteen presents a radio play perfect for the season.<\/p>\n

“It’s A Wonderful Life: 1940s Radio Play” will feature a host of local vocal icons and some young talents in a one-night-only offering\u00a0Dec. 19 of the classic holiday movie of a man who sees what life would be like without him. The original 1946 film, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” starring Jimmy Stewart, has become a pillar of the Yule movie pantheon.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Using Foley sound effects and a sizable company, the show bring the story to life as it would have been done in a radio studio during the war period.<\/p>\n

Taking roles in the show are Robert Pavlovich, Wayne Gonsoulin, Marsha Preston, Jaun\u00e9e Buisson, Holden Hebert, Basil Marie, Stephen Denning, Carlos Gonzalez, Jeff Crouere, Lisette Bayle, Leon Contavesprie, Peter Gabb, Jack Quarles, Jimmy DeMontluzin, Soline Holmes, Will H. Lee and Jamie Montelepre. “Uncle” Wayne Daigrepont directs the production.\u00a0<\/p>\n
