Vanna White almost spun the wheel on her career.<\/span><\/p>\n

The “<\/span>Wheel of Fortune<\/span><\/a>” star revealed that she almost left the long-running game show around the same time co-host <\/span>Pat Sajak<\/a> decided to retire in 2024 after 41 years on air.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Pat decided he was going to retire, I had to make a decision,\u201d White exclusively shared with E! News. \u201cWorking with someone for that long, I feel like I should maybe go with him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

As the 68-year-old explained, she had mixed feelings about continuing on the show with somebody new after more than <\/span>four decades<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBut I thought hard and thought, \u2018You know what? I\u2019m just not ready to retire yet. I\u2019m having fun. I feel good. I feel healthy,\u2019\u201d she continued. \u201cSo<\/span>,<\/span> at this point<\/span>,<\/span> it\u2019s one year at a time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Indeed, she doesn\u2019t have an end date in mind when it comes to her role on “Wheel of Fortune,” and she\u2019s also not sure if her post-Wheel career includes any other TV gigs. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think there\u2019s anything else on TV I would rather do after being on <\/span>Wheel<\/span> for so long,\u201d she shared. \u201cHonestly, I think I wanna just play golf when I retire.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

But as White \u2014 who has been with the show since 1982 \u2014 knows first hand, \u201cYou never know what tomorrow holds.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAt this point, I\u2019m happy with my job, I\u2019m continuing on <\/span>Wheel<\/span>, and we will take one year at a time and go from there,\u201d she added. \u201cYou never know what\u2019s around the corner. You just don\u2019t. Something might come to me that I want to be involved in. I just take one day at a time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

And White \u2014 who shares kids <\/span>Nicholas, 31, and <\/span>Giovanna, 28, with ex-husband <\/span>George Santo Pietro \u2014 is loving working alongside her new cohost <\/span>Ryan <\/span>Seacrest, <\/span>who took over hosting duties from Pat in 2024<\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe get along great,\u201d she told E!. \u201cI think our chemistry is good. He\u2019s such a nice guy and he\u2019s so professional and hardworking and we just gel. This is our second year together and I feel like it\u2019s been forever.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Plus, it helped that she and Seacrest had known each other for over 20 years before he joined the show.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe do <\/span>have some background friendship,\u201d she added. \u201cIt all worked out just perfect.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, the TV personality has also maintained her close friendship with Sajak, revealing that she and the former host only got into one argument during their time working together: whether or not you should put ketchup on a hot dog. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI do,\u201d she laughed. \u201cHe does not. He said that\u2019s wrong.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

“Wheel of Fortune” airs weeknights on ABC, with episodes streaming the next day on Peacock and Hulu. And don’t forget a special holiday episode of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune on Dec. 18 at 8 p.m. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
