Meghan Markle<\/a> has been slammed for her approach to contacting her ailing father, Thomas Markle<\/a>, after he had his leg amputated in the hospital. Speaking exclusively on the Daily Expresso<\/a> news show, Talk TV host Mark Dolan, took aim at the Duchess after a statement released by a Sussex spokesman criticised a Daily Mail journalist, who Thomas has been a father figure to for seven years, for being at his bedside.<\/p>\n Mr Dolan said, “This is an 81-year-old man. He\u2019s lonely; he\u2019s in a foreign country thousands of miles away. He\u2019s got his son, Thomas Markle Jr,<\/a> but he\u2019s got major issues, too. He\u2019s got health problems, he\u2019s broke, and he\u2019s not been able to be at the hospital 24\/7, so Caroline has filled the gap.<\/p>\n And what is her reward? A subtle attack from the ruthless Sussex public relations machine<\/a>, throwing shade at the Mail on Sunday for running this story. And therefore, that is by definition an attack on Caroline Graham, who is really a dear friend of Thomas Markle.”<\/p>\n Explaining why this latest drama has been a “public relations disaster”, Mr Dolan said: “This is a nightmare for Meghan, and it is a public relations disaster because she\u2019s trying to rehabilitate herself in the world of Hollywood<\/a>. She\u2019s got her ailing business empire, As Ever<\/a>, which is basically a bit of honey and a couple of flower sprinkles. It\u2019s turned into a bitter war of words, and all Thomas Markle gets from Meghan is one of her creepy calligraphy letters.<\/p>\n “When you\u2019re dying, and your last hope is to meet your daughter, and you get some correspondence, I think that\u2019s a real slap in the face. Given that Meghan knew Thomas Markle was fighting for his life, if that\u2019s not a wakeup call, and you can\u2019t jump on a plane or call him, then nothing will change.
