Gorillaz<\/a> have shared a new single, \u201cDamascus,\u201d that features Syrian singer Omar Souleyman and rapper Yasiin Bey. It\u2019s the latest preview of their upcoming album, The Mountain<\/em><\/a>. Stream it below.<\/p>\n \u201cDamascus\u201d is a briskly-paced, uptempo groove that features Souleyman singing proudly throughout. Filling in the space between the drums and soaring vocals is Bey, rapping a refrain that drips potent imagery. \u201cNavigating the waves in the dark, no map\/ Stars in the heavens and the breeze on my back,\u201d he raps, extremely close to a chant.<\/p>\n Get Gorillaz Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n Spanning 15 tracks,\u00a0The Mountain<\/em> is Gorillaz\u2019s ninth studio album and their first on new record label KONG. Featuring previous singles\u00a0\u201cThe Happy Dictator,\u201d \u201cThe Manifesto,\u201d<\/a> and \u201cThe God of Lying,\u201d<\/a> its guest lineup includes Black Thought of the Roots, Paul Simonon of The Clash, Ayaan Ali Bangash, Asha Puthli, Jalen Ngonda, IDLES, Anoushka Shankar, and Johnny Marr. The LP is also set to feature posthumous contributions from Proof, Tony Allen, Dennis Hopper, Mark E Smith of the Fall, Bobby Womack, and Dave Jolicoeur (aka Trugoy the Dove of De La Soul).<\/p>\n Related Video<\/p>\n Gorillaz have revealed the project is coming sooner than expected, as the release date has been moved up to February 27th, 2026. To celebrate The Mountain<\/em>\u2019s release next year, they are heading out on an arena tour of the UK and Ireland (get tickets here<\/a>), kicking off on March 21st in Manchester, England.<\/p>\n Before that, Gorillaz will bring their House of Kong exhibition<\/a> to Los Angeles for a limited four-week run from February 26th to March 19th. Along with the launch of the exhibition, Gorillaz will perform a special two-night show (get tickets here<\/a>) at the Hollywood Palladium on February 22nd and 23rd, where they\u2019ll play The Mountain<\/em> in its entirety.<\/p>\n
