Photo Courtesy Gable Music Ventures<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 data-start=\"226\" data-end=\"336\">Igniting Delaware Edutainment Association, known as I.D.E.A., a Wilmington-based nonprofit that focuses on education, arts, and community engagement, will take over the Ladybug Music Festival<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"338\" data-end=\"607\"><strong data-start=\"338\" data-end=\"358\">WILMINGTON, Del.<\/strong> \u2014 The Ladybug Music Festival, widely recognized as the nation\u2019s largest free celebration of women in music, will return under new stewardship in 2025, continuing a run that has made it one of Delaware\u2019s most successful and enduring cultural events.\n<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"609\" data-end=\"884\">The festival will now be managed by Igniting Delaware Edutainment Association, known as I.D.E.A., a Wilmington-based nonprofit that focuses on education, arts, and community engagement. The transition marks the first change in leadership since the festival\u2019s founding in 2012.<!-- Error, Ad (n\/a) is not available at this time due to schedule\/budgeting\/geolocation\/mobile restrictions! -->\n<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"886\" data-end=\"1282\">For more than a decade, Ladybug has grown from a small, grassroots showcase on Market Street into a statewide cultural institution, drawing thousands of attendees each year and featuring hundreds of women-fronted bands and solo artists from across the country and abroad. Artists have traveled to Wilmington from more than 20 states and three countries to perform at the free, women-led festival.\n<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1284\" data-end=\"1500\">The festival was founded and led by Gayle Dillman, whose vision and persistence helped establish Ladybug as a signature summer event in Wilmington and a nationally recognized platform for women in the music industry.\n<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1502\" data-end=\"1819\">\u201cI\u2019ve been privileged to be a part of The Ladybug Music Festival from the very beginning,\u201d Dillman said in a statement. \u201cIt has been my honor to create and nurture this event and watch it grow into something truly special. The organization is best known locally for producing TEDxWilmington and developing youth-focused \u201cedutainment\u201d initiatives across Delaware.\n<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2367\" data-end=\"2699\">\u201cThe success of Ladybug is a direct result of Gayle Dillman\u2019s vision and the dedication of the team she built over more than a decade,\u201d said Jamie Kleman, board chairwoman of I.D.E.A. \u201cWe are deeply inspired by what they created and mindful of the responsibility that comes with stewarding something so meaningful to the community.\u201d<!-- Error, Ad (n\/a) is not available at this time due to schedule\/budgeting\/geolocation\/mobile restrictions! -->\n<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2701\" data-end=\"2825\">Kleman said the nonprofit\u2019s role is not to reinvent the festival, but to build carefully on the foundation already in place.\n<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2827\" data-end=\"3053\">\u201cOur work begins with honoring Gayle and her team \u2014 their values, their standards, and their belief in women artists,\u201d she said. \u201cOur goal is to support and extend that legacy in a way that stays true to the spirit of Ladybug.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3055\" data-end=\"3217\">I.D.E.A. said it is committed to keeping the festival women-led, free to the public, and rooted in Wilmington, with Market Street remaining the heart of the event.\n<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3219\" data-end=\"3605\">Looking ahead, the organization plans to expand Ladybug beyond a single-day festival into a broader, multi-day experience that includes workshops, artist development programs, entrepreneurship sessions, and community events.
