Lakeith Stanfield<\/a> is set to play NBA<\/a> legend Dennis Rodman<\/a> in Lionsgate<\/a>\u2019s \u201c48 Hours in Vegas,\u201d taking over the role after Jonathan Majors<\/a> was dropped from the film following his 2023 assault conviction.<\/p>\n

The upcoming comedy is \u201cinspired by the untold story of Dennis Rodman\u2019s legendary trip to Las Vegas during the 1998 NBA Finals\u2014just as the Rodman\u2019s Chicago Bulls<\/a> are on the verge of completing their second consecutive threepeat championship in eight years,\u201d according to a release.<\/p>\n

Rick Famuyiwa<\/a> will direct \u201c48 Hours in Vegas\u201d and write the next draft of the screenplay, following an earlier draft by Jordan VanDina<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The film will be produced by Lord Miller\u2019s Phil Lord<\/a>, Chris Miller<\/a>, and Aditya Sood<\/a>. Executive producers include Ari Lubet<\/a>, Rodman and Lucy Kitada<\/a>, with Nikki Baida<\/a> serving as co-producer. Meredith Wieck<\/a> and Pavan Kalidindi<\/a> will oversee the project for Lionsgate, while Robert Melnik<\/a> negotiated the deals on behalf of the studio.<\/p>\n
