{"id":2197278,"date":"2025-12-13T03:24:25","date_gmt":"2025-12-13T03:24:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2197278"},"modified":"2025-12-13T03:24:25","modified_gmt":"2025-12-13T03:24:25","slug":"friends-cast-teams-up-for-special-tribute-to-co-star-matthew-perry-two-years-after-his-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/friends-cast-teams-up-for-special-tribute-to-co-star-matthew-perry-two-years-after-his-death\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Friends&#8217; cast teams up for special tribute to co-star Matthew Perry two years after his death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Matthew Perry\u2019s surviving \u201cFriends\u201d co-stars teamed up to honor the late actor two years after <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/10\/28\/entertainment\/matthew-perry-dead-at-54-from-apparent-drowning-report\/\">his tragic death. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow came together for a charity fundraiser in partnership with the Matthew Perry Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>They were each seen signing a piece of artwork commissioned by the charity in photos shared by <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DSIhV4aktIe\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the organization\u2019s official Instagram<\/a> account on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cast has teamed up with @soundwaves_art and artist Tim Wakefield for a very special collection of artwork this holiday season,\u201d reads the caption.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The cast of \u201cFriends\u201d has teamed up to honor their co-star Matthew Perry two years after his tragic death. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The actors came together with Perry\u2019s foundation for a charity fundraiser.  <span class=\"credit\">Matthew Perry Foundation\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Each star was seen in a post personally signing pieces of artwork for a special charity fundraiser.  <span class=\"credit\">Matthew Perry Foundation\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cTim has transformed the actual soundwaves of the \u2018Friends\u2019 theme song into these beautiful designs each inspired by a different character, and each cast member has autographed their own small run of artworks,\u201d the post continued. <\/p>\n<p>In collaboration with Perry\u2019s estate, the foundation has produced a limited collection of artworks embossed with the \u201c17 Again\u201d star\u2019s official signature. <\/p>\n<p>The signed prints are currently being sold for $600 while unsigned ones are going for $100, according to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/soundwavesartfoundation.com\/collections\/friends\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Soundwaves Art Foundation\u2019s site<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward Perry\u2019s organization, which aims to help those struggling with addiction, as well as other charities chosen by the cast. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Each art design is based on the soundwaves of the \u201cFriends\u201d theme song and all signed prints are currently being sold for $600.  <span class=\"credit\">Matthew Perry Foundation\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Perry died in October 2023 at age 54. His death was ruled an accident from acute effects of ketamine.  <span class=\"credit\">David M. Benett<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Perry <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/10\/28\/entertainment\/matthew-perry-dead-at-54-from-apparent-drowning-report\/\">was found dead<\/a> at his home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles in October 2023. He was 54.<\/p>\n<p>The Los Angeles Medical Examiner\u2019s Office later <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/12\/15\/celebrity-news\/matthew-perrys-official-cause-of-death-revealed\/\">cited his cause of death<\/a> as an accident from acute effects of ketamine.<\/p>\n<p>Perry had previously opened up about using ketamine to treat his depression.
