Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> on Thursday revealed that the federal government recently sent him a check and, much like COVID-19 stimulus checks in 2020, President Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s name found its way onto it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The late-night host declared that Trump \u201cloves putting his name on checks \u2013 as long as the money isn\u2019t his\u201d before pulling a check from his blazer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In September, Amazon<\/a> reached a $2.5 billion settlement<\/a> with the Federal Trade Commission, which had brought a lawsuit during the Biden administration, claiming that the online retail giant had duped millions of customers into signing up for Prime subscriptions, then made it difficult for them to cancel. The settlement resulted in Amazon<\/a> agreeing to pay $1.5 billion to customers who had unintentionally enrolled in the Prime service or were otherwise deterred from canceling it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Some of that money apparently went to Kimmel, who showed off a $51 check on the air that, per an attached letter, was the result of \u201cPresident Trump\u2019s Federal Trade Commission\u201d settling with Amazon.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt says three times, President Trump\u2019s FTC. Well, thank you, Mr. President. I\u2019m going to use this to buy six minutes of health insurance,\u201d Kimmel quipped in a nod to the GOP\u2019s rejected plans<\/a> to pay Americans up to $1,500 for health expenses rather than extend soon-to-expire health care subsidies. \u201cUsually, to get a check with Trump\u2019s name on it, you have to spank him with a magazine and agree not to tell anybody about it. So, I figured I\u2019m ahead!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
