Tributes have since poured in for Reiner, with the Screen Actors Guild, which represents thousands of actors, journalists and performers, paid tribute in a statement which read: “Rob Reiner is one of the most significant figures in the history of film and television. The impact he made on American culture simply can\u2019t be overstated. Tributes will pour in and the impossibly long list of genre defining films and indelible performances will play in our minds and hearts. Rob Reiner was a member of our union for nearly 60 years. We send love and warmth to Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner\u2019s families, friends and colleagues.”\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

LA Mayor Karen Bass issued a statement on their passing, describing their loss as “a devastating blow for our city and our nation”.<\/p>\n
“Rob Reiner’s contributions reverberate throughout American culture and society, and he has improved countless lives through his creative work and advocacy fighting for social and economic justice,” added.<\/p>\n
Michele Reiner, Rob’s wife of thirty years, was also an accomplished producer, actor and photographer and worked alongside her husband on many of his famous projects. They met on the set of When Harry Met Sally, with Reiner stating their own romance inspired the film’s ending. They married in 1989, the year the film came out, and had three children together, Jake, Nick and Romy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
