Works on display range from paintings to sculptures, along with other mixed media. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"JC66GP3FNVBC7A7FJBGFMUJZKE\">\u201cThis show is just packed full of so much talent,\u201d said Sierra Myers, executive director of the Art for the Soul Gallery, in an interview with The Republican. \u201cIt\u2019s one of those shows where the work truly speaks for itself.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"Q7UBDSOKWFDEVPLS5ZAIGZQDLU\">Artists featured in \u201cThe Power of She\u201d are Malaika Ross, of Easthampton; Donnabelle Casis, of Easthampton; Louise LaPlante, of Easthampton; Rosa Ibarra, of Northampton; Eva Lin Fahey, of Florence; Aura Pan, of Amherst; Nora Valdez, of Dorchester; Angela Ales, of Lowell; and Lily Nimmer, of Boston, but based in the Adirondacks. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"M3EK4YM565DSDAQUR522MC3MYU\">The exhibit, on display through Jan. 25, reflects the mission of the nonprofit gallery founded by Rosemary Tracy Woods in 2011. It was originally called the Artist Square Group Gallery. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"KRNIENRGQNFVHMZ4CHX7BZ4YWE\">\u201cOur mission is to truly represent underserved communities and underrepresented artists,\u201d Myers said. \u201cWe\u2019re in pretty divisive times and women tend to be looked over in a variety of different career paths and industries, and art is definitely one of them.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"77RYUQ7GWJF4BOSAZVGEXTT4AI\">The exhibit also marks Woods\u2019 retirement and her official transition to founding director emeritus. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"TJRHOCGVKVFIBKT4ZH7CHN4TP4\">\u201c[Rosemary] built Art For The Soul Gallery from a vision into a cultural institution that has shaped countless artists, affirmed community identity and expanded what creative opportunity looks like in Springfield,\u201d Myers said of the gallery\u2019s founder. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"G5KICPJFIFHOXOYV47RYHXQ6PA\">\u201cAs executive director, I see my work as an extension of that legacy. I want to honor what Rosemary created while also guiding the gallery into its next chapter, one that increases access, strengthens partnerships and expands the ways we show up for artists and our community. (Douglas Hook \/ The Republican)<span class=\"article__mm-image-credit\">Douglas Hook<\/span><\/span><\/figcaption><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"5GPQWDMCMFF2BPYT64A27ELE6Q\">Running alongside the exhibit is \u201cMRKT,\u201d a boutique shopping experience inside of the Art for the Soul gallery selling work by women, femme and nonbinary artists and crafters from across Western Massachusetts. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"KZ6RPOZJM5DAPPXJTOQ7ANE7DE\">Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, from noon to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"RVLZGEH3ZRGABJY5TDI4N4ERNU\">There is no cost to enter the gallery, and all are welcome.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"XHU5ND75UFHABOYHT3KRKW4ZPY\">An artist talk will be held at the gallery Jan. 17 from noon-3 p.m. featuring three of the artists \u2014 Ross, Casis and Fahey.
