Rob Reiner<\/strong><\/a><\/span> and wife Michele Singer Reiner<\/span><\/a><\/strong>\u2018s son Nick Reiner<\/strong> once admitted to nearly destroying his parents\u2019 guest house in the midst of his addiction.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not much of a story,\u201d Nick shared on an August 2018 episode of the \u201cDopey<\/span><\/a>\u201d podcast. \u201cI got totally spun out on uppers \u2014 I think it was coke and something else \u2014 and I was up for days on end. I started punching out different things in my guest house.\u201d<\/p>\n Nick said he started with the TV and went over to the lamp before \u201ceverything in the guest house got wrecked.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI went 10 rounds in my guest house,\u201d he shared. \u201cI literally punched the TV.\u201d<\/p>\n When asked if he hurt himself during the incident, Nick said he didn\u2019t \u201ceven remember at this point.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThey told me I had to go,\u201d he shared while seemingly confirming his parents tried to kick him out before the incident. \u201cI don\u2019t remember the specifics of it.\u201d<\/p>\n During the podcast episode, Nick identified himself as a \u201cdrug addict\u201d and said he was smoking weed and taking a little bit of adderall around the time of the podcast taping.<\/p>\n When questioned if there was any thought process to destroying the guest house, Nick simply said, \u201cYou\u2019re crazy. No logic.\u201d<\/p>\n The clips have resurfaced online after Rob and Michele were found dead<\/span><\/a> in their Brentwood, Los Angeles, home on Sunday, December 14. Rob was 78 while Michele was 68.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner,\u201d a spokesperson for the family said in a statement shared with Variety<\/i><\/span><\/a>. \u201cWe are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n One day later, Los Angeles Police Department Parker City Jail told Us<\/i> that Nick, now 32, was arrested<\/span><\/a> on a murder charge. (Rob and Michele also shared kids Jake, 34, and Romy, 28, in addition to the director\u2019s daughter Tracy, 61, whom he adopted while married to ex-wife<\/span><\/a> Penny Marshall<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n Nick\u2019s case is set to be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney\u2019s Office for filing consideration on Tuesday, December 16, the LAPD shared in a statement.
