Sam Elliott is dedicated to his role on the Paramount+ drama \u201cLandman.\u201d<\/p>\n
Elliott, 81, joined the cast for season 2<\/a>, playing Tommy Norris\u2019 (Billy Bob Thornton) father, T.L. Despite having over five decades of experience in Hollywood, Elliott still enjoys hanging around the \u201cLandman\u201d set and watching his costars work.<\/p>\n \u201cHe never leaves,\u201d Kayla Wallace<\/a>, who plays attorney Rebecca Falcone, said during an interview with People<\/a> published on Sunday, Dec. 14. \u201cEven if he\u2019s not in a scene, he shows up early to set. He\u2019ll find a place to sit \u2014 a bench, an apple box, whatever. He\u2019s not fussy.\u201d<\/p>\n Wallace added that Elliott is \u201cjust happy to sit there and be a part of it and watch all of us perform.\u201d<\/p>\n Colm Feore, who plays fellow M-Tex Oil lawyer Nathan, told the outlet that while Elliott\u2019s consistent presence creates a feeling of \u201csupport,\u201d it can also be intimidating. <\/p>\n \u201cIt does up the [stakes] when you\u2019re trying not to suck, right?\u201d Feore quipped.<\/p>\n Season 2 of \u201cLandman\u201d kicked off in November. The show centers on Thornton\u2019s character, a fixer and landman for the fictional oil company M-Tex. He becomes president of the company at the end of season 1. Tommy has new professional and personal changes during season 2, including reconnecting with his father, T.L. After the death of Tommy\u2019s estranged mother<\/a>, his ex-wife turned current love interest Angela (Ali Larter) insists that T.L. move in with their family. <\/p>\n Thornton and Elliott are longtime friends in real life, having previously shared the screen in the \u201cYellowstone\u201d prequel \u201c1883\u2033 and the 1993 film \u201cTombstone.\u201d<\/p>\n READ MORE: <\/b>What\u2019s the age difference between Billy Bob Thornton and his TV dad, Sam Elliott?<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n Earlier this month, Elliott gushed about collaborating with Thornton during a joint interview with People.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cHaving an opportunity to work with Billy again \u2014 we\u2019ve only worked [together] briefly, a couple of times \u2014 and this time we\u2019re in deep, and it\u2019s just a treat to go to work and be with him,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n Thornton told the outlet that \u201cLandman\u201d is a job \u201cwhere you don\u2019t have days when you don\u2019t want to go to work.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe love to go to work on this show, and we love all the cast, it\u2019s an amazing crew \u2014 best crew I\u2019ve ever worked with,” Thornton said. \u201cI mean, there\u2019s never a day when I\u2019m like, \u2018Wow, I wish I could get the hell out of here.\u2019 It never happens. It\u2019s a wonderful place to be.\u201d<\/p>\n Luckily for Thornton and Elliott, they have more shooting days ahead. \u201cLandman\u201d was officially renewed for season 3 <\/a>earlier this month. <\/p>\n
