Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor could yet have a starring role in the
\nRoyal Family\u2019s Christmas celebrations and in a way that won\u2019t leave
\na smile on anyone\u2019s faces.<\/p>\n

The disgraced brother of
\nKing Charles<\/a>, who lost all his titles just weeks ago after
\nfurther scandal, has become the main butt of a very British festive
\ntradition: the Christmas cracker joke.<\/p>\n

And two mottos featuring him have been named as the best of 2025
\nmeaning they might just end up in a cracker being pulled at the
\nroyal dining table this Christmas.<\/p>\n

The former prince is the focus of several swipes in the annual
\ncompetition run by TV channel U&Gold<\/a> (known before as
\nComedy Gold). It asks viewers every year to come up with Christmas
\ncracker jokes and this year\u2019s winner is all about Andrew.<\/p>\n

The top cracker motto reads \u201dwhy is Andrew not writing any
\nChristmas books?\u201d and the punchline is \u201dhe hasn\u2019t got any
\ntitles!\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the work of Ben Smith from Chelmsford in Essex. Andrew lost
\nall his royal titles after King Charles removed his HRH and Prince
\nand asked the Lord Chancellor to remove his other titles \u2013 Duke of
\nYork, Earl of Inverness and Baron Killyleagh \u2013 from the Roll of
\nPeerage. Since then, the eighth in line to the throne has been
\nknown as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.<\/p>\n

Another joke in the top five is also about Andrew. This one
\nplaced fourth on the list and starts \u201dwhat do Andrew
\nMountbatten-Windsor and a snowman have in common?\u201d The answer
\n\u201dthey\u2019re both out in the cold\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Royal Family most likely already have their crackers lined
\nup but given Andrew\u2019s dominance of the jokes now being told this
\nfestive season, he may end up having an unexpected presence at the
\nChristmas dinner table at Sandringham.<\/p>\n

It was already known that he wouldn\u2019t be at the Royal Family\u2019s
\nChristmas celebrations at the Norfolk residence even though he is
\ndue to move into a grace and favour home on the estate there in the
\nNew Year having surrendered his lease on the thirty room Royal
\nLodge at Windsor at the same time that he lost his titles.<\/p>\n

King Charles and Queen Camilla are expected to
\ngather the Windsors at Sandringham<\/a> where they will celebrate
\nChristmas Day together. It\u2019s not yet known whether Andrew\u2019s two
\ndaughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, will join
\nthem.<\/p>\n

The princesses didn\u2019t join the Royal Family at the recent
\nChristmas carol service organised by the Princess of Wales at
\nWestminster Abbey despite both having attended previously.<\/p>\n

There was also no sign of any member of the wider Royal Family
\nat the christening of Princess Beatrice\u2019s daughter, Athena, at St.
\nJames\u2019 Palace in London just a few days ago. However, the baptism
\nwas held privately and guests were only seen as they attended a pub
\nlunch afterwards when only Beatrice, Eugenie and their closest
\nfriends and family were seen.<\/p>\n

Princess Beatrice joined the Royal Family for Christmas in 2024
\nafter cancelling her plans to travel to Italy on doctor\u2019s advice as
\nshe entered the final stages of her pregnancy with Athena.<\/p>\n

Princess Eugenie didn\u2019t attend as she was with the family of her
\nhusband, Jack Brooksbank. Neither Andrew Mountbatten Windsor nor
\nhis former wife, Sarah Ferguson, were at the royal Christmas
\ncelebrations in 2024.<\/p>\n
