The Australian film industry is grieving the loss of beloved actor Martin Grelis, who died this week aged 57.<\/p>\n

Grelis’ death was confirmed on Tuesday on social media by his talent agent, Sophie Jermyn Management.<\/p>\n

Alongside a photo of a beaming Grelis, they wrote: ‘Vale Martin.\u00a0We’re so saddened to hear of the passing of our beloved client.<\/p>\n

‘Martin was a bright spark who lit up every room he was in – a talented actor, a kind person and a wonderful soul.<\/p>\n

‘Our condolences and thoughts are with his family and loved ones in this difficult time. Gone far too soon xx.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

The veteran actor had a career that spanned almost three decades, beginning with a small role opposite Keanu Reeves<\/a> in the science fiction classic The Matrix.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His other renowned roles included playing a detective in the 2014 mini-series Schapelle, which dramatised the trial of the convicted drug smuggler.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Grelis also appeared in All Saints, Water Rats and the 2012 mini-series Mabo.<\/p>\n

His final acting role was earlier this year in the TV series Alpha King, alongside Last King of the Cross actress\u00a0Mia Pimentel.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Heartbroken fans took to social media to pay tribute to Grelis.<\/p>\n

‘So saddened to hear this. Martin was the most lovely man. Sending condolences and love to all who knew him,’ one person wrote.<\/p>\n

‘Sorry to hear this news. Sending love,’ a second added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ada Nicodemou also starred The Matrix alongside Grelis.<\/p>\n

In 2019, her\u00a0cameo role resurfaced online – and her fans loved every minute of it<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Home and Away<\/a> star, 48, appeared in the sci-fi blockbuster as\u00a0Dujour.<\/p>\n

‘To see Ada in that movie was a blast. I grew up thinking she was the most beautiful lady in the world,’ one said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
