The couple were found dead inside their home in Brentwood, Los Angeles, on Sunday, December 14, with TMZ reporting that Rob, 78, and Michele \u201csuffered lacerations consistent with a knife.\u201d Rob and Michele\u2019s family broke their silence late Sunday [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cOther people\u2019s tragedy is sacred ground and we try very hard not to walk there,\u201d Colbert, 61, said, describing the events as \u201ctoo dark\u201d for his usual witty show-opening monologue.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are going to do a comedy show tonight, in light of, and in spite of, the darkness,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
ABC\u2019s Jimmy Kimmel<\/strong>, 58, and Late Night<\/em><\/a>\u2019s Seth Meyers<\/strong>, 51, had impassioned reactions to the news of the Reiners\u2019 deaths<\/a>, as well as President Donald Trump<\/strong>\u2019s divisive comments<\/a> earlier Monday alluding to Rob\u2019s liberal political stance.<\/p>\nIn light of the tragedies over the weekend, Kimmel said<\/a> that America needed \u201ccompassion and leadership,\u201d but \u201cwe did not get that from our president, because he has none of it to give.\u201d<\/p>\n\u201cJust when you think he can\u2019t go any lower, he finds a way to do that,\u201d Kimmel continued, referring to Trump\u2019s remarks about the Reiners\u2019 deaths.<\/p>\n
In a social media post on Monday morning, Trump wrote that, \u201cRob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201c\u201cHe was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s so hateful and vile,\u201d Kimmel said on Monday\u2019s Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/em><\/a> \u201cWhen I first saw it, I thought it was fake. My wife showed it to me this morning.
