Alberto Bade won for his hosting role on MDC-TV\u2019s \u201cVideo Game Concert 2025,\u201d which won in the category of \u201cSpecial Event Coverage \u2013 Edited.\u201d And Carlos \u201cCarlitos\u201d Lopez, who served as audio producer of the Palm Beach Symphony\u2019s \u201cThe Carnival of MORE Animals,\u201d won for \u201cAudio \u2013 Live or Post Production.\u201d The awards, recognizing excellence in television in Florida, plus Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Puerto Rico, were presented this month.<\/p>\n<p>Lopez and Bade are two of the most notable recent alumni of the Frost School\u2019s renowned conducting program.<span>\u00a0<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/albertbade\/?hl=en\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Bade<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>earned his Frost doctorate in the spring of 2025, and will receive an Artist Diploma next May. He is a professor and orchestral director at Miami Dade College, where he oversees the MDC Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n<p>Before coming to the Frost School,<span>\u00a0<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/news.miami.edu\/frost\/stories\/2025\/10\/carlitos-lopez-profile.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Lopez<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>already had a notable career in his native Colombia as a pianist and educator. A triple Frost School alumnus, he earned a doctorate in classical conducting in 2023. Beyond school, he has amassed a far-flung list of credits in the pop as well as classical music worlds, including<span>\u00a0<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/news.miami.edu\/frost\/stories\/2024\/05\/carlosbadbunny.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">orchestra leader<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/a>for the 2024 \u201cMost Wanted\u201d concert tour by Bad Bunny (who will be the halftime show headliner at the 2026 Super Bowl.)<\/p>\n<p>At the Frost School, Lopez and Bade both studied conducting under professor<span>\u00a0<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/people.miami.edu\/profile\/672e38e38e4d35518a8ebe3b8b9db056\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Gerard Schwarz<\/a>, who also serves as music director of the Frost Symphony Orchestra and Palm Beach Symphony. In the latter capacity, Maestro Schwarz was<span>\u00a0<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/news.miami.edu\/frost\/stories\/2025\/12\/emmy-noms.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">twice nominated<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>himself in this year\u2019s Suncoast Regional Emmys.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am so proud of my two students, Alberto Bade and Carlos Lopez, for winning Emmy awards this season,\u201d said Schwarz.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are two remarkable musicians, and I am so proud of their accomplishments and the recognition they so richly deserve.
