\n Los Angeles-based attorney Alan Jackson<\/a> \u2014 who has taken on a number of famous clients in his work as a defense attorney \u2014 is representing Nick Reiner, who was charged in the murder of his parents.\n <\/p>\n

\n A former Los Angeles prosecutor who unsuccessfully ran<\/a> to be district attorney in 2012, Jackson has since focused on defending a number of controversial clients.\n <\/p>\n

\n His most recent success in court came in defense of Karen Read, who in June was acquitted<\/a> of second-degree murder and manslaughter charges in the death of her boyfriend, John O\u2019Keefe, in 2022. Jackson argued<\/a> investigators exhibited \u201cblatant bias\u201d that tainted the case.\n <\/p>\n

\n The verdict resulted in a feature profile in Vanity Fair<\/a> for Jackson, and his firm\u2019s website maintains a section<\/a> dedicated to press coverage of the case.\n <\/p>\n

\n Jackson represented Kevin Spacey in a 2019 sexual assault case in Massachusetts. The charge was dropped by prosecutors \u201cdue to the unavailability of the complaining witness,\u201d a court filing said<\/a>.\n <\/p>\n

\n In Hollywood, Jackson is best known for defending Harvey Weinstein against rape and sexual assault charges, ending in conviction<\/a> and a 16-year sentence. Jackson argued some accusers had been involved in a \u201ctransactional relationship\u201d with Weinstein.\n <\/p>\n

\n When it comes to his new client, Jackson declined yesterday to tell reporters how he became associated with the case or who would be paying his fees.\n <\/p>\n
