A strange note was found near his body that read \u201cI\u2019m still a Westie,\u201d a nod to the 1970s Irish-American Hell\u2019s Kitchen gang.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Greene opened up battling addiction asa  teen.  <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9Buena Vista Pictures\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Greene has never shied away from his past drug use, and has been outspoken about once attempting suicide as a teen. <\/p>\n<p>The idea of him taking his own life in 2025, however, is unthinkable to his longtime manager, Gregg Edwards, who told us he didn\u2019t get sense that he was suicidal. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cNot at all,\u201d he said, adding, Greene was in \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/12\/13\/entertainment\/peter-greene-looked-happy-and-healthy-in-photo-posted-just-weeks-before-tragic-death-at-60\/\">good spirits on Wednesday<\/a>,\u201d two days before he was found lifeless in his Clinton St. apartment.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Greene\u2019s longtime pal, Skam Dust, said he was looking forward to celebrating the New Year.  <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/Skam Dust<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>His friend of 27 years, New York actor\/musician, Skam Dust, told us Greene was making New Year\u2019s Eve plans to hang with his freind including him, Danny Diablo and Lord Ezec. \u201cHe was going to rent a truck limousine and Peter\u2019s vision was that we were going to go bar hopping and restaurant hopping. He wasn\u2019t suicidal,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Greene\u2019s role in movies like \u201cThe Mask\u201d made him a star.  <span class=\"credit\">New Line Cinema<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Another friend, who chose to remain anonymous, said friends \u201cwere always concerned\u201d Greene\u2019s life would come to a tragic end due to his relationship with drugs. \u201cHe would get clean, and he would try to get back to normal, and then couldn\u2019t kick it,\u201d they alleged.<\/p>\n<p>The source added pals would often do welfare checks when they couldn\u2019t reach him. Skam Dust admitted that he did a welfare check one day, only to find out Greene had fled for Upstate New York.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was in the Adirondack Mountains up there, reading scripts. He goes in deep, shuts the phone off, and you won\u2019t see him for a while. He read every script by the way,\u201d he said. (He added he had no indication that Greene was back on drugs). <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Greene starred in the 1994 film \u201cPulp Fiction.\u201d  <span class=\"credit\">MIramax<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Edwards told us Greene was looking forward to upcoming projects, including their film, \u201cFrom the American People: The Withdrawal of USAID,\u201d a documentary that Greene was planning to narrate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m going to miss him. He\u2019d give you the shirt off his back,\u201d Edwards said.<\/p>\n<p>A choked up Skam Dust described the loss as \u201ca deep hole in my heart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was very exceptional [with a] caring heart \u2013 would literally take the shirt off his back.
