Fox Entertainment Studios (FES) has struck a first-look deal with former Fremantle executive Jeffrey Levine and his production banner Bronson Canyon Pictures.<\/p>\n
Levine, who was\u00a0most recently Fremantle\u2019s\u00a0senior VP of scripted\u00a0development,\u00a0and\u00a0FES will develop and produce scripted series for broadcast, streaming and other platforms under the multi-year deal.<\/p>\n
FES and Bronson Canyon Pictures have already secured the rights to develop a pair of books:\u00a0Pat Kelly\u2019s Rifle Season, about a legendary big-game hunting guide\u00a0whose life spirals after a\u00a0tragic accident leaves him with an involuntary manslaughter conviction; and Thomas Mullen\u2019s Darktown trilogy, a historical crime thriller set in Atlanta in 1948\u00a0following\u00a0two of the city\u2019s first\u00a0black police officers.<\/p>\n
During his time at Fremantle, New York-based Levine\u00a0was responsible for\u00a0acquiring,\u00a0packaging\u00a0and selling series to major streaming platforms. He worked on titles such as\u00a0American Gods, Little Bird\u00a0and the upcoming Amazon UK\u00a0series Kill Jackie\u00a0starring Catherine Zeta-Jones.<\/p>\n
Before that, he was a producer at Paula Weinstein\u2019s Spring Creek Productions and previously held executive posts at Castle Rock Entertainment, Turner Network Television and The Zanuck Company.<\/p>\n
