Online<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Your heart may never go on after this <\/span>Leonardo DiCaprio<\/a> confession. <\/span><\/p>\n Nearly 30 years after the “One Battle After Another” actor and <\/span>Kate Winslet starred in<\/span> James Cameron\u2019s <\/span>“Titanic<\/span><\/a>,” an iconic drama based on the 1912 sinking of the vessel by the same name, he revealed he\u2019s never actually seen the movie. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI haven\u2019t seen it before,\u201d DiCaprio told <\/span>Jennifer Lawrence during their conversation for celebrity.land and Variety\u2019s “Actors on Actors” series Dec. 17<\/a>. \u201cI don\u2019t really watch my films.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n And while the “Hunger Games” actress, 35, concurred that she rarely takes in her own work, she emphasized to Leo of the 1997 love story, \u201cI bet you could watch it now, it\u2019s so good.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Of course, DiCaprio, 51, doesn\u2019t need convincing in that regard, even if he\u2019s never sat through the entire three hours and 15 minutes. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt became something that we could\u2019ve never foreseen,\u201d DiCaprio, who was just 22 when Titanic was released, explained to Deadline<\/a> in a 2016 interview. \u201cPeople said, ‘Do you realize how big of a movie this is?’ I said, ‘Yeah, it\u2019s big. It\u2019s a big movie.\u2019 They\u2019re like, ‘No. No. No, it\u2019s the biggest movie ever.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n READ<\/b> Why Matthew McConaughey Didn’t End Up Getting the Lead Role in Titanic<\/a><\/p>\n Indeed, because of the film\u2019s success DiCaprio \u2014 who had already solidified himself as a star at that point \u2014 was able to take on more experimental roles. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI had forged by then exactly what type of films I wanted to do,\u201d he explained. \u201cI used [my fame] as a blessing, to make R-rated, different kinds of movies, to throw the dice a little bit on things I wanted to act in. People would want to finance those movies now. I\u2019d never had that before<\/span> Titanic.<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, the only regret DiCaprio previously had about taking the role of 20th century heartthrob Jack Dawson was being forced to pass on <\/span>Paul Thomas Anderson\u2019s directorial debut “Boogie Nights,” which also hit the big screen in 1997.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe dilemma for me at that point, was, of course, I would\u2019ve loved to have done both movies,\u201d DiCaprio explained to <\/span>Deadline <\/span><\/a>earlier this year<\/a>, \u201cbut it just couldn\u2019t happen at that moment.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
