In that, she explained that most people would try to avoid making loved ones feel guilty for attending a celebration without them. Instead, Andrew<\/a>\u2019s public appearance gave off a heavier tone.\u00a0<\/p>\n

James analyzed, \u201cAndrew appears to have gone full-on \u2018Marley\u2019s ghost\u2019 here, with the rain dripping of the peak of his riding hat running obligingly in front of his face like a mini-Niagara.\u201d She added that he looked \u201csolemn and gloomy, in complete contrast to the Firm\u2019s selection of beaming, glowing and shiny-with Xmas excitement faces as they make their way off to the feast.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Andrew rode alone, Prince William<\/a> and Kate Middleton arrived at the palace with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The annual lunch brings together extended members of the family before they split off to celebrate Christmas in smaller groups. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie also attended, smiling as they drove through the gates.<\/p>\n

While Andrew remains at Royal Lodge for now, he is expected to leave the grand property in the New Year. Reports claim he will move into a much smaller home on the Sandringham estate, and some of his belongings are already being moved into storage.<\/p>\n
