On Wednesday night, a truly bonkers story broke<\/a> involving a lawsuit filed by Brigitte Kruse\u00a0and Kevin Fialko\u2014two former business\u00a0associates of Lisa Marie Presley<\/b>\u2014against Presley\u2019s son, Navarone Garcia<\/strong>. In the recently amended suit, they allege that actress Riley Keough<\/strong>\u00a0is the biological mother of Travolta and Kelly Preston<\/strong>\u2019s son via egg donation.<\/p>\n Hold on. Take a sip of coffee. Because this legalese bullshit is about to get insane.<\/strong><\/p>\n First, it helps to understand the family tree. Keough is the daughter of Presley, who is the daughter of Priscilla Presley<\/b>, who married Elvis and was famously the subject of an underrated Sofia Coppola<\/b> film. Moving on.<\/p>\n According to the suit, after Lisa Marie\u2019s death in January 2023, the \u201centire Presley family clamored for control of the estate and for payouts, using Plaintiffs Kruse and Fialko as both negotiators and mediators.\u201d Which, honestly, tracks given, you know, it\u2019s Elvis.<\/p>\n The filing includes the bombshell claim that Presley\u2019s ex-husband, Michael Lockwood<\/strong>, told Kruse that Keough had donated one of her eggs to Travolta and Preston in exchange for up to $20,000 and an \u201cold Jaguar.\u201d And that the couple had previously used Presley\u2019s donated eggs to get pregnant\u2014though it didn\u2019t clarify whether those eggs resulted in a pregnancy. Travolta allegedly approached the family again in 2010, a year after his son died, but said he didn\u2019t want Presley\u2019s \u201ceggs with heroin,\u201d and made a deal where Keough donated her eggs instead.<\/p>\n Which, $20k and an old jag? This detail seems a little too specific to be made up. But I digress. But no.<\/p>\n Presley was quick to shut the rumor down<\/a>, stating that they have \u201cabsolutely nothing to do with the claims in this case,\u201d adding that the matter \u201cabsolutely will be addressed in court.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite that, and despite the fact that an egg donation doesn\u2019t guarantee a pregnancy\u2014before the ink could dry, tabloids ran wild, declaring that Travolta\u2019s 15-year-old son, Benjamin, is in fact the biological great-grandson of Elvis Presley, making this nugget of gossip fascinating to my celebrity-addled brain and, at the same time, completely useless information.
