Soooo close to being a 2025 footnote and left alone to live their lives in private.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, Kristin\u00a0Cabot, the woman involved, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/12\/18\/us-news\/ex-astronomer-employee-kristin-cabot-caught-canoodling-with-boss-at-coldplay-concert-blames-bad-decision-on-a-couple-of-high-noons\/\">decided to put the spotlight back on herself<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Wha?<\/p>\n<p>Cabot spoke to the New York Times and the Times of London in stories published Thursday, six long months after she and boss Andy Byron, the CEO of software firm Astronomer, were caught canoodling on a kiss cam at a Coldplay concert in Boston.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot, the company\u2019s HR head, were caught on a kiss cam at a Coldplay concert, sparking a viral news cycle that led to them both leaving the company. <span class=\"credit\">instaagraace\/TikTok<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>You\u2019re remembering now, right? Why put yourself right back in the public eye?<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018Silence is acceptance.\u2019 And I thought, \u2018Oh my god, that\u2019s what\u2019s going to be out there for the rest of her life,&#8217;\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/12\/18\/style\/coldplay-concert-couple-kiss-cam-woman.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cabot told The New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The NYT piece  \u2014 headlined \u201cThe ritual shaming of a woman at the center of the woman at the Coldplay concert\u201d \u2014 was meant to mount sympathy for Cabot, \u201cjust a mom from New Hampshire\u201d who describes being hounded by strangers and receiving death threats.<\/p>\n<p>The story frames her, and her alone, as the victim: cast from polite society because she is a woman, while her male partner in crime is still sitting pretty.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Kristin Cabot reportedly hired the same public relations guru who helped Monica Lewinsky go from political punchline to empowered anti-cyber bullying advocate.  <span class=\"credit\">FilmMagic<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>But that\u2019s not the case. They both got their licks.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, he has stayed mum. \u201cReached by phone, Byron declined to be interviewed for this article.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cabot, 53, meanwhile, reportedly hired the public relations guru who helped Monica Lewinsky reframe her identity from Oval Office strumpet to \u201cpatient zero\u201d of online bullying.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Cabot wants to dispel the notion that she slept her way to the top, saying, \u201cI spent so much of my career pulling men\u2019s hands off my ass.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She also gave a blow-by-blow of how her and Byron\u2019s office connection led to a blossoming romance. I can have a crush. It\u2019s a sad evolution of our social media-focused culture, where we fixate and destroy anonymous people\u2019s lives for sport and clicks. Laugh now \u2014\u00a0but it may be you, random Joe Blow, who is up next on the viral shame game.<\/p>\n<p>I doubt Cabot\u2019s summer was pleasant by any stretch. And maybe she has a steep climb back to another human resources perch.<\/p>\n<p>But I disagree about silence.
