The King was back at the place his own naval career began as he
\noversaw an important ceremony.<\/p>\n

King Charles was at Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth
\nin Devon to oversee the Lord High Admiral\u2019s Divisions, the
\ntraditional naval parade marking the end of training for over 190
\nnaval cadets.<\/p>\n

Sailors promoted from the ranks and international cadets also
\ntook part in the event.<\/p>\n

King Charles, in full naval uniform, took the salute during the
\nceremony which took place on a cold, bright day.<\/p>\n

Dartmouth is filled with memories for The King who attended the
\nBritannia Royal Naval College and passed out of it almost 55 years
\nago.<\/p>\n

It also holds a special place in Royal Family history for Prince
\nPhilip also trained here and had one of his earliest meetings with
\nQueen Elizabeth II at Dartmouth.<\/p>\n

The King looked wistful at times as he toured the College and
\ninspected the cadets who have all undergone intensive training.<\/p>\n

His visit comes just a week after he revealed that doctors have
\nagreed he can reduce his cancer treatment next year. The King said
\nearly detection was a major reason for his improving health
\nsituation and urged everyone to take up testing whenever it is
\npossible for them.<\/p>\n

The visit to Dartmouth follows a busy week which saw King
\nCharles trying to pull the perfect pint of Guinness and holding a
\nreception for the crew of the HMS Prince of Wales.<\/p>\n

Buckingham Palace was also filled with the wider Royal Family
\nduring the earlier part of the week as King Charles and Queen
\nCamilla hosted a Christmas lunch to celebrate the season with as
\nmany of their relatives as possible.<\/p>\n

The King and Queen will head to Sandringham soon to start their
\nfestivities where it\u2019s expected they will be joined by the Prince
\nand Princess of Wales and their three children, George, Charlotte
\nand Louis as well as Princess Anne and her family.<\/p>\n
