Bowen Yang<\/a> is exiting \u201cSaturday Night Live<\/a>\u201d in the middle of his eighth season on the show. His last turn as a cast member will be this Saturday\u2019s episode, which is being hosted by his \u201cWicked<\/a>\u201d co-star Ariana Grande<\/a> with Cher<\/a> as musical guest.<\/p>\n

Representatives for Yang<\/a> and \u201cSaturday Night Live<\/a>\u201d declined to comment.<\/p>\n

Yang first joined \u201cSNL<\/a>\u201d as a writer in 2018 for Season 44. He joined the cast as a featured player during Season 45, and was promoted to join the main cast beginning with Season 47.<\/p>\n

His exit follows the major exodus that came ahead of Season 51, which premiered on Oct. 4. Ego Nwodim<\/a>, Heidi Gardner<\/a>, Michael Longfellow<\/a>, Devon Walker<\/a>, Emil Wakim<\/a> and John Higgins<\/a> all recently departed the late night sketch show. Higgins\u2019 departure was announced in tandem with his fellow Please Don\u2019t Destroy<\/a> member Martin Herlihy<\/a> moving to the writing staff while Ben Marshall<\/a> moved to the featured cast.<\/p>\n
