Skye Newman has released a new single, Lonely Girl.<\/p>\n

Co-written with Boo and Luis Navidad, the R&B-influenced alt-pop track looks at a relationship with a significant age difference and challenges the reluctance of men to take on their responsibilities. Newman explained:<\/p>\n

“The song is about men who abuse their power by taking advantage of young girls, their naivety and vulnerability. I don\u2019t think there is enough light being brought to school girls and men in their early twenties especially creating these relationships because the age gap doesn\u2019t seem far enough as a woman matures early and a man late, so that\u2019s okay right? WRONG!<\/p>\n
\n <\/p>\n“Young people need advocates but also knowledge. Educate these babies on how good grooming can make them feel at first because that\u2019s the point! To keep them there so these predators can control. IT\u2019S ABUSE! That\u2019s exactly why they target young, innocent children. Let\u2019s start calling this out as it is.<\/p>\n
\n <\/p>\n“Every girl I know, including myself, has been approached by men too old when we are too young to understand. I\u2019ve watched my friends fall for it and it\u2019s not something I think any girl should have to experience. Most of the time it\u2019s not you\u2019re older you see how bad it really is. Let\u2019s make it so they don\u2019t have to wait until they\u2019re 30 and traumatised to realise. If you or anyone you know is in this situation, please run or help them run.”<\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\nThe song follows the South London artist’s debut EP ‘SE9 Part 1’, released in October,\u00a0and rounds off a standout year for the vocalist, who has been named\u00a0on\u00a0many Artists to Watch in 2026 lists.\u00a0<\/p>\n
