Leading off the young ladies with perhaps the most buoyant song of the evening as her musical accompaniment was Miss <strong>Cameron Sinclair Andrews<\/strong>, daughter of <strong>Mr. and Mrs. Todd Michael Andrews<\/strong>. \u201cFly Me to the Moon\u201d was played by the Jimmy Maxwell Orchestra, led by <strong>Robert Maxwell.<\/strong> Continuing the ABC alphabetical sequence were Misses <strong>Emma Rose Baumer, Kate Faulkner Bensel<\/strong> and <strong>Eleanor Catherine Cowan<\/strong>, whose parents are <strong>Mr. and Mrs. Kristen Michael Baumer, Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Charles Bensel,<\/strong> and <strong>Mr. and Mrs. Robert William Cowan.<\/strong> \u201cYou\u201d figured in each of their respective songs: \u201cIt Had to Be You,\u201d \u201cI Just Called To Say I Love You\u201d and \u201cIf I Had You.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"2\" style=\"position:relative;\">\n<div class=\"col-md-8\">\n<p>Striding forward next were Misses <strong>Ashley Conner Ellis,<\/strong> daughter of <strong>Mr. and Mrs. William Conner Ellis III<\/strong>, to \u201cJust in Time\u201d; <strong>Eliza Brandon Favrot<\/strong>, daughter of <strong>Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Semmes Favrot,<\/strong> to \u201cUnforgettable\u201d; <strong>Kelsey Grace French<\/strong>, daughter of Mr. <strong>William Darwin French<\/strong> and Ms. <strong>Kara Van de Carr<\/strong> and stepdaughter of the latter\u2019s husband, Mr. <strong>Daryl Glynn Byrd<\/strong>, Kelsey\u2019s escort, to \u201cIce Castles\u201d; <strong>Caroline LeBon Henry<\/strong>, daughter of <strong>Mr. and Mrs. Gerard Edward Henry<\/strong>, to \u201cWhere or When\u201d; <strong>Sarah Crusel Henry,<\/strong> daughter of <strong>Dr. and Mrs. Edmund Ruffin Henry,<\/strong> to \u201cBeyond the Sea\u201d; and <strong>Lillian Lair Hooper,<\/strong> daughter of <strong>Mr. and Mrs. Andre von Kurnatowski Hooper,<\/strong> to \u201cWhat I Did for Love.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"3\" style=\"position:relative;\">\n<div class=\"col-md-8\">\n<p>Holding bouquets of soft pink roses, they entered the country club\u2019s ballroom from opposite doors of the Founder\u2019s Room, where the same roses embellished the mantel piece. The stage in the ballroom was backed by royal blue drapery on which hung the crest of the Debutante Club. Floral arrangements added further accents. Credit for the lovely look went to <strong>Paul Lacour,<\/strong> the setting, and Dunn &amp; Sonnier, the flowers.<\/p>\n<p>Misses <strong>Caroline Grace LeBourgeois<\/strong>, daughter of <strong>Mr. and Mrs. Charles Claiborne LeBourgeois Jr.; Susan Anne Le Clercq,<\/strong> daughter of <strong>Mr. and Mrs. Frederic Theodore Le Clercq;<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>Lucile McGlinchey Monsted,<\/strong> daughter of <strong>Mr. and Mrs. Charles Niels Monsted IV<\/strong>,\u00a0were the subsequent trio. Their tunes were \u201cIsn\u2019t She Lovely,\u201d \u201cCan\u2019t Help Falling in Love,\u201d and \u201cIf.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"4\" style=\"position:relative;\">\n<div class=\"col-md-8\">\n<p>The remaining new members were Misses <strong>Brooke Coleman Reiss,<\/strong> daughter of <strong>Mr. and Mrs. James Joseph Reiss III<\/strong> \u2014 all unable to be present; <strong>Elizabeth Kathleen Robert<\/strong>, daughter of <strong>Dr. and Mrs. Kearny Quinn Robert III<\/strong>, to \u201cOn the Street Where You Live\u201d; <strong>Lillian Margaret Roussel<\/strong>, daughter of <strong>Mr. and Mrs. Scott Farrell Roussel,<\/strong> to \u201cMy Cherie Amour\u201d; <strong>Elizabeth McLundie Bolton Schmidt,<\/strong> daughter of <strong>Mr. and Mrs. Justin Burton Schmidt<\/strong>, to \u201cThe Days of Wine and Roses\u201d; <strong>Lucie Ellann Williamson<\/strong>, daughter of Mr. <strong>George Taylor Williamson Jr.<\/strong> and <strong>Mrs. James Russell Kelly Jr.<\/strong>, to \u201cThe Way You Look Tonight\u201d; and <strong>Charlotte Sydney Wirth<\/strong>, daughter of <strong>Mr. and Mrs. Adam Roy Wirth<\/strong>, to \u201cTraces.\u201d After being processed around the ballroom by their fathers, the debutantes were led to a position on the stage by a committeeman.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"5\" style=\"position:relative;\">\n<div class=\"col-md-8\">\n<p>The narrator announced the final club member, who appeared with her father to the song, \u201cLinger Awhile.\u201d Addressed was a debutante of the 2024-2025 season, Miss <strong>Sarah Butler Sumrall<\/strong>, daughter of <strong>Dr. and Mrs. William David Sumrall III,<\/strong> and the 2025 President of The Debutante Club of New Orleans. On Feb. 27, The Knights of Momus chose her as their queen.<\/p>\n<p>In front of the seated assembly, Sarah Sumrall made a solo curtsy, which cued the new members to do likewise. Hearty applause occurred after the in-unison curtsies. A traditional footnote ensued as the dads partnered with the debs for \u201cThank Heaven for Little Girls.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With alacrity, the floor was cleared of the audience\u2019s chairs to welcome later dancing. Two large dining rooms flanking the ballroom had tables centered with topiaries set in small off-white urns and beribboned in silver. They were designed by <strong>Bunny Smith.<\/strong> Soon, places were filled at the tables as guests sat to savor breakfast foods.
