Nine Inch Nails<\/a><\/strong> officially returned earlier this year with their soundtrack work for Tron: Ares<\/em>, marking the band’s first new release since 2020’s ambient albums Ghosts V: Together<\/em> and Ghosts VI: Locusts<\/em>. Now, it sounds like that return was only the beginning.<\/p>\n In a new interview with Consequence<\/a><\/em>, Trent Reznor<\/strong> revealed that he and longtime collaborator Atticus Ross<\/strong> are actively working on new Nine Inch Nails<\/strong> material, and that the project is once again a top priority.<\/p>\n “We are working on new stuff and we’re excited to work on it,” Reznor<\/strong> said. “We are prioritizing working on Nine Inch Nails<\/strong> over just taking on every single thing that comes up in the other category.”<\/p>\n Reznor<\/strong>, who has spent much of the past decade scoring films and television alongside Ross<\/strong>, suggested a renewed creative energy behind Nine Inch Nails<\/strong> specifically. “Beyond that, I can’t say much, but the difference between now and a year ago is the fuse has been lit and the desire is there.”<\/p>\n For fans who have been waiting since Ghosts V and Ghosts VI, that spark may finally be turning into something substantial.<\/p>\n Speaking of Nine Inch Nails<\/strong> in 2026, they’ve got the second leg of their North America Peel It Back Tour coming up in February. Unfortunately the Trent Reznor<\/strong> and Atticus Ross<\/strong>-headed festival Future Ruins was cancelled<\/a>, but hey \u2013 the aforementioned tour is still on.
