It\u2019s the second sampling from the band\u2019s forthcoming new album, following the previously released single \u201cHigh On Our Own Supply.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Says the band about the latest single,\u00a0\u201c\u2018No Direction<\/em>\u2019 is a love song for all we leave at home while we\u2019re chasing this nomadic dream of music on the run. This song comes from the experiences of being on a tour that feels like a pirate ship that\u2019s been catapulted into the Wild West trying to find the buried treasure of a Delorean Time Machine that\u2019s just trying to get us back home to that feeling that inspired us in the first place.\u201d<\/p>\n

Band member Gordy Quist<\/strong> told\u00a0American Songwriter<\/a>\u00a0in an exclusive interview,\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019re constantly on the move, but there\u2019s a lot of love and inspiration where we started from. I think the song is trying to put those things together and make sense of leaving some things that you love in pursuit of something.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018No Direction<\/em>\u2019 represents that initial inspiration when you\u2019re a young band, discovering the power of music and wanting to get out there and just do it\u201d\u00a0he continues.<\/p>\n

Celebrating their\u00a020th anniversary, The Band of Heathens<\/strong> marked the milestone not only with their most ambitious album yet, but with a series of Texas homecoming shows and a recently announced tour with stops in Chicago, Atlanta, Indianapolis, New Orleans and more.\u00a0Long hailed as one of the most fiercely independent bands in rock and roll, the group has built a career outside the traditional music industry \u2014 and achieved\u00a0platinum-level success\u00a0doing so.\u00a0The success of that independence is officially recognized today as the band\u2019s recording of\u00a0\u201cHurricane\u201d\u00a0has been certified platinum.<\/p>\n
