Leona Lewis announced that she is canceling her Saturday night show at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.<\/p>\n
Taking to Instagram<\/a> on Friday, Dec. 19, the British singer revealed that a persistent sore throat forced her to pull the plug on the show. \u201cI am heartbroken to share that I will not be able to perform tomorrow night\u2019s show (Dec. 20),\u201d she wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI have been battling a sore throat for the past few days and while I tried pushing through tonight\u2019s show, it has only left me feeling worse,\u201d she continued. \u201cI will be spending this time recovering and on vocal rest so I can come back stronger and give you all the show you deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n Lewis acknowledged the timing was particularly unfortunate for fans planning to attend during the holiday season. \u201cThis was not an easy decision and I\u2019m truly so gutted to disappoint any of you who had plans to attend,\u201d she said. \u201cThank you for your patience, kindness and understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cBleeding Love\u201d singer is in the middle of her \u201cA Starry Night\u201d residency at Voltaire at The Venetian Resort, which began Nov. 1 and will run until Jan. 3, 2026.<\/p>\n Per the website<\/a>, the holiday residency is specifically focused on Christmas: \u201cLeona\u2019s impressive vocals will be on full display inside the intimate venue with a must-see Christmas event designed to capture the spirit of the season. \u2018A Starry Night\u2019 will offer guests of all ages the ultimate way to celebrate Christmas in Las Vegas with a one-of-a-kind holiday experience not to be missed.\u201d<\/p>\n Lewis\u2019 residency showcases songs from her holiday album, \u201cChristmas, with Love,\u201d alongside other selections from her career. It\u2019s unclear if her future performances will be affected. Her remaining scheduled dates include Dec. 21, 24, 26\u201328, 30\u201331, and Jan. 2\u20133.<\/p>\n Lewis\u2019 first major global hit was \u201cBleeding Love,\u201d released in late 2007 from her debut album, \u201cSpirit.\u201d She earned three Grammy nominations for that album.<\/p>\n She began leaning into the holiday space in 2013 with the release of her \u201cChristmas, with Love\u201d album, which featured hits like \u201cOne More Sleep\u201d and \u201cKiss Me It\u2019s Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n She re-released the popular holiday album in 2021 with extra tracks and a repackaged format.<\/p>\n Lewis came onto the music scene after winning the talent show \u201cThe X Factor\u201d<\/a> in 2006, where Simon Cowell<\/a> was her mentor and judge.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
