Now, Grupo Frontera looks ahead to the Grammys on Feb. 1, where they will compete for best M\u00fasica Mexicana album (including Tejano) for their EP with Fuerza Regida, \u201cMala m\u00eda,\u201d and their solo EP \u201cY lo que viene.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>These are the group\u2019s first Grammy nominations \u2014 a remarkable feat considering they only debuted in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s something you would never think, that someone who plays our style of music would be nominated,\u201d said the group\u2019s vocalist and bajo quinto performer Adelaido \u201cPayo\u201d Solis III about the Grammys.<\/p>\n<p>The idea for an EP with Fuerza Regida came from guitarist Beto Acosta, who drew inspiration from the success of their hit \u201cBeb\u00e9 dame\u201d and other important collaborations such as \u201cOasis\u201d by\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/spotify-wrapped-2025-bad-bunny-taylor-swift-fb021e2387d6aff7e4d8353a067f1664\">Bad Bunny<\/a>\u00a0and J Balvin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur vibes are similar,\u201d Payo said. \u201cI feel that the chemistry is very cool.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The EP was recorded in Los Angeles, where the band took the opportunity to record additional material, including \u201cTu favorita\u201d, a collaboration with Fuerza Regida and Chilean artist Cris MJ, featured on their latest album \u201cLo que me falta por llorar.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cool thing is that they are from Los Angeles and we are from Texas,\u201d Payo said of the band led by Jes\u00fas Ortiz Paz. \u201cWe kind of have a certain style that we grew up listening to \u2026 I feel that that was a super perfect fusion.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Since the debut of \u201cLo que me falta por llorar,&#8221; Grupo Frontera has maintained their momentum with a string of surprises and releases. Most recently, they joined Bad Bunny at one of his eight concerts in Mexico City to perform their hit \u201cUn x100to.\u201d They also released \u201cBeses as\u00ed\u201d with Calle 24, and the music video for \u201cSe me sale,&#8221; one of the songs on their album.<\/p>\n<p>Next up for the band is a long-awaited international tour that will take them to Latin America and Europe, including stops in Bogota, Mexico City, Paris, London, Madrid, Milan, Quito, Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile.<\/p>\n<p>The tour marks a return to the spotlight after a period of focusing on producing new music.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe decided to take a break because, last year, we were releasing songs recorded right on stage,\u201d Payo said. \u201c\u2018Qu\u00e9date, beb\u00e9\u2019 was actually recorded during a soundcheck that night&#8230; To be honest, we didn\u2019t realize just how much we would miss being up there.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>For \u201cLo que me falta por llorar\u201d the band reunited with\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/edgar-barrera-latin-grammys-2023-75d5aeba30e60632b466fa5adff06711\">Edgar Barrera<\/a>, the Mexican producer and composer currently nominated for his third consecutive Grammy for songwriter of the year.
