(KCTV) &#8211; The future home of the Chiefs will be located in two Kansas City suburbs. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Wyandotte County will be home to the team\u2019s new $3 billion stadium in 2031.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A new Chiefs headquarters and training facility will anchor a new entertainment area in Olathe. The development will include shopping, restaurants. and other attractions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Olathe Mayor John Bacon said he is excited the city will play a key role in the future of the Kansas City Chiefs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThis deal is a once-in-a-generation type of opportunity for our community and region. Having the Chiefs headquarters and training facilities here in Johnson County will be huge for our local economy \u2013 and a lot of fun for our families,\u201d Bacon said. \u201cWe\u2019re eager to get to work, and are committed to ensuring the process \u2013 and the result \u2013 are first class, something everyone in Olathe \u2013 and all across Chiefs Kingdom \u2013 can be proud of.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Olathe City Council has 60 days to hold a public hearing. The council will then need to adopt an ordinance pledging all local incremental general sales tax within the STAR bond project area to the project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Other leaders, including the Olathe Chamber of Commerce, believe the deal will have lasting implications that will benefit everyone who calls the city home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe\u2019re so glad we were able to keep the Kansas City Chiefs in the region,\u201d President and CEO of the Olathe Chamber of Commerce Tim McKee said. \u201cWe\u2019ve been working closely with the City of Olathe and Olathe Public Schools on this incredible opportunity. It has truly been a collaborative effort.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">McKee said broader development plans could include a stadium for Olathe Public Schools, office space, restaurants, retail, hotels and other amenities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe recognize the potential this move brings not only in terms of economic growth and community visibility, but also in the possibilities for meaningful partnerships that support student learning and community engagement,\u201d Olathe Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Brent Yeager said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The idea between the city and Olathe School District began two years ago following a visit to the Dallas Cowboys facility according to McKee.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\"><i>Copyright 2025 KCTV.
