Michael Douglas<\/a> says he and Rob Reiner<\/a> often connected over their sons\u2019 troubles before the \u201cStand by Me<\/a>\u201d director was killed.<\/p>\n

As part of CBS\u2019 \u201cRob Reiner \u2013 Scenes from a Life\u201d special, Douglas said dealing with the addiction of his own son, Cameron Douglas<\/a>, helped him relate to Reiner<\/a> and the problems with his son, Nick.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also had a son who had had drug issues. I\u2019m happy to say he\u2019s overcome them and living a prosperous life,\u201d Douglas said. The two-time Oscar winner added that he and Reiner would \u201ctalk a lot about that and what you can do as a parent, what you can\u2019t do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer<\/a>, were found stabbed to death in their home on Dec. 14. Their son, Nick, was arrested hours later and, on Tuesday afternoon, he was charged with two counts of murder in the death of his parents.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
