Shane, 25, has a 2-4-1 record with a 2.51 GAA, and .892SV% in eight games this season with the Mavericks. This move comes after the Royals traded Vinnie Purpura to the Savannah Ghost Pirates last week. In their last game vs Adirondack Thunder, Reading signed Brandon Kasel as their EBUG after Yaniv Perets got called up. This now gives the Royals three goaltenders on their roster. I expect Shane to play a big role for the Royals if/when the ECHL season resumes.

📰 NEWS: Kansas City Mavericks have traded goalie Ian Shane to the Reading Royals for future considerations.

— Kansas City Mavericks (@kc_mavericks) December 22, 2025

The Mannhattan Beach, California, native made his ECHL debut at the end of last season going 3-0-2 with a 2.54 GAA, .913SV%, and one shutout in five games with the Norfolk Admirals.
