Kate Hudson is heading to Aspen this spring as the headliner for the Aspen Snow Ball Gala, an annual event that bring A-list stars and performers to Colorado to benefit the Children\u2019s Oncology Support Fund.<\/p>\n
More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n Hot off awards season buzz for her role in the new musical drama, Song Sung Blue<\/a>, Hudson will bring her singing talents to the stage at the March 21 event, which takes place at the St. Regis Aspen Resort, now far from where she grew up in Colorado. This year\u2019s edition is the 4th annual Snow Ball Gala and will feature a \u201cPure Imagination\u201d theme inspired by Willy Wonka, with the St. Regis ballroom set to be transformed into a \u201cmodern reincarnation of the famed Chocolate Factory,\u201d per press materials. Organizers say the theme is also a nod to Willy Wonka\u2019s golden ticket \u2014 the golden ticket being remission.<\/p>\n In addition to Hudson\u2019s performance, the event will be hosted by Chelsea Handler and feature other celebrity guests to be announced later. Previous Snow Ball Galas have brought out the likes of Diana Ross, Nile Rodgers, Robin Thicke and Macy Gray. Last year\u2019s event featured a headlining performance from Zara Larsson followed by a DJ set from Mia Moretti.<\/p>\n The Aspen Snow Ball Gala and the\u00a0Children\u2019s Oncology Support Fund (COSF) is the brainchild of film producer and philanthropist\u00a0Thomas Pierce. In a press release, Pierce calls the gala an event where \u201cphilanthropy and entertainment work together to make an impact happen,\u201d adding that as a native of Aspen, Hudson \u201cbrings an authenticity to the gala taking place in a town she calls home. We are so excited to have her on the Aspen Snow Ball stage, and grateful for her support to help push our remission forward.\u201d<\/p>\n COSF helps to fund research and awareness of treatment options for pediatric cancer patients across the country.
