People will get the chance to see some of the best local musicians at a couple of showcase events early in 2026.<\/p>\n
The gigs in Huddersfield and Dewsbury have been organised by Kirklees Most Wanted which is dedicated to showcasing local music talent.<\/p>\n
The Huddersfield gig is on Saturday, January 10 at The Northern Quarter on Wood Street in Huddersfield town centre and features four acts.<\/p>\n
They are alternative metal band Rillington Place, <\/strong>hip-hop artists Eskar and Micky Swags, musician and producer Leo Brazil who blends acoustic, folk, pop, and psychedelia influences and Sophie And Songs, an independent singer songwriter delivering hauntingly beautiful folk tracks with vulnerable, authentic lyrics.<\/p>\n Kirklees Most Wanted says: \u201cThe Kirklees Most Wanted Showcase is more than just a concert, it\u2019s a celebration of the thriving music scene in Kirklees.<\/p>\n \u201cBy holding events in both Huddersfield and Dewsbury we are expanding our mission to amplify local voices and nurture the vibrant, inclusive music scene across the whole community.\u201d<\/p>\n The Dewsbury showcase is on Friday, February 20 at The Terrace on Wellington Road, Dewsbury, featuring four acts showcasing indie-folk, pop and high-energy rock including singer songwriter Simon Walker who has collaborated in the past with Justin Hawkins from The Darkness, emerging indie folk singer songwriter Eve Jone, dreamy electro pop singer songwriter Penny and Don Gonzo, a high-energy band delivering an unpredictable and highly danceable blend of psychedelic rock, post-punk and funk.
