Online<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Content warning: This story contains discussion of suicide.<\/em><\/p>\n Jamie McPhee is figuring out her new normal.<\/span><\/p>\n Less than one week after <\/span>her husband <\/span>James Ransone died<\/span><\/a> by suicide on Dec. 19 at the age of 46, McPhee shared how she is navigating the loss while parenting their kids <\/span>Jack, 6, and <\/span>Violet, 4. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThey wanted ice cream after the park,\u201d she posted on <\/span>Instagram<\/span><\/a> Dec. 23, explaining how she took them to a local mall. \u201cViolet picked out a pink backpack. Jack made me buy and then build things at the Lego store.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n McPhee continued, \u201cFor the first time in my life, it was clear that people recognized me. I heard someone behind me in the food court say, \u2018ask her.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n And while the mom of two was grateful that strangers did not approach her about Ransone\u2019s passing, she said the experience made her realize how \u201cyou never really know what people are going through.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIn many moments we looked\u2026happy. Normal. Laughing. Smiling,\u201d she wrote. \u201cHow? Not because we aren\u2019t grieving. We are. But because I have two beautiful, incredible children who force me *daily* to see all the love and all the light that still exists inside of this.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n PHOTOS<\/b> Celebrity Deaths: 2025’s Fallen Stars<\/a><\/p>\n McPhee also addressed her late husband by his nickname \u201c<\/span>PJ,\u201d writing in a heartbreaking note that his \u201cdevastating loss has also given so many an unbelievable gift\u201d in \u201ccountless stories\u201d about his life from friends and family.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThere are probably a hundred thousand more I still haven\u2019t heard of people reconnecting,\u201d she continued. \u201cOf friendships healing after years of silence. Of truths finally being spoken. Of old pain being brought into the light and somehow\u2026 softening.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIn the weeks before you left us, after months of telling me nearly every regret you\u2019d ever carried: every mistake, every f—up, every hurtful thing you thought you\u2019d wrote or said, you burst into tears and said: \u2018Babe, you know the most fucked-up thing of all? I actually love everyone,\u2019\u201d McPhee recalled. \u201cWell babe, it turns out that despite all of it, everyone actually loves you too.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Her heartbreaking message followed a tribute to the “It Chapter Two” actor written two days following his passing.
