Mike \u201cThe Situation\u201d Sorrentino<\/strong><\/a> is celebrating his milestone of a decade of sobriety.<\/p>\n

\u201c10 years ago, I made a decision that changed everything. A decision to stop running, stop numbing, and finally face my life head-on,\u201d the Jersey Shore<\/em><\/a> star, 43, wrote via the Instagram page<\/a> for his recovery organization, The Archangel Centers, on Wednesday, December 24. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t easy. There were moments I doubted myself, moments I felt broken beyond repair. But one day at a time, I chose recovery, and those days added up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sorrentino shared that choosing to become sober gave him his \u201clife back.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt gave me clarity, purpose, faith, family, and a mission bigger than myself,\u201d he continued. \u201cIt gave me the ability to turn my darkest chapters into a platform of hope for others who are still struggling.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMike \u201cThe Situation\u201d Sorrentino has announced the launch of his own recovery and treatment centers, The Archangel Centers. \u201cIf you had told me 10 years ago that the U.S. government would send me to prison, strip me of my passport and voting rights, and hit me with millions in penalties, I would\u2019ve thought it was [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Now that Sorrentino is on the right path, he expressed his gratitude for everyone who stayed by his side during those dark times.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, I celebrate this milestone with gratitude, for my support system, my wife and family, my team, and everyone who believed in me when I couldn\u2019t believe in myself,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I celebrate it by continuing the work, founding the Archangel Centers, and helping others see that recovery is possible and worth fighting for.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sorrentino added that if there is anyone feeling hopeless about making change, he hopes his story inspires them.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019re reading this and wondering if change is possible for you, let me be living proof that it is,\u201d he shared. \u201cOne day. One choice. One step at a time. The comeback really is greater than the setback. \ud83d\ude4f.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sorrentino rose to fame as one of the main cast members on Jersey Shore<\/em>. While filming the MTV series, Sorrentino struggled with substance abuse, which he has since been candid about.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had an obsessive personality and everything I did was zero or a hundred,\u201d the reality star exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> in November 2023. \u201cOnce you get into that life of excess, whether it\u2019s drugs, women, money, success, a lot of people don\u2019t make it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sorrentino also previously served eight months behind bars in federal prison for tax evasion after failing to pay $8.9 million in taxes. He was released in 2019.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMike \u201cThe Situation\u201d Sorrentino has opened up about his past cocaine and oxycodone addiction and admitted he spent $500K to satisfy his drug habit. \u201cWhen you think of that number, when you hear that number, that\u2019s a good college fund right there,\u201d the Jersey Shore star, 41, told Entertainment Tonight in an interview published on [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Last year, Sorrentino announced that he was opening his own mental health and addiction recovery centers called The Archangel Centers. The first facility opened in New Jersey earlier this year.<\/p>\n
