Morrissey has announced that he <\/a>has secured a publishing deal with a record label, which will allow him to release new music.<\/p>\n The former The Smiths singer was previously signed to Capitol and was allegedly supposed to share his album Bonfire of Teenagers<\/em>, however, Morrissey would depart the label, saying that Capitol\u2019s then-CEO was trying to \u201cwreck<\/a>\u201d his career.<\/p>\n Departing the label wouldn\u2019t ease the album\u2019s roll-out, as the singer would share in September this year that no other music label would put out the long-delayed LP due to its controversial title track named after the 2017 Manchester Arena terrorist attack, which transpired at Ariana Grande\u2019s concert, which left 22 fans dead.<\/p>\n As of last week, Morrissey confirmed that The Smiths\u2019 former US label, Sire, has agreed to distribute the new album, You\u2019re Right, It\u2019s Time<\/em>, which is apparently an entirely separate project recorded after Bonfire of Teenagers<\/em>.<\/p>\n Recorded between 2020 and 2021, Bonfire of Teenagers<\/em> was intended as one of Morrissey\u2019s more prominent releases, with the singer claiming it was \u201cthe best album of my life\u201d. The album was also set to feature Miley Cyrus, Red Hot Chilli Peppers\u2019 Chad Smith and Flea, and Iggy Pop.<\/p>\n You\u2019re Right, It\u2019s Time<\/em>, originally titled Without Music The World Dies<\/em>, was recorded in 2023 at La Babrique Studios in France with producer Joe Chiccarelli.<\/p>\n Australian Artist Nick Cave revealed in July this year that Morrissey had asked the singer to collaborate on a song<\/a> in the past, however would have to turn down the offer after Moz revealed he wanted Cave to deliver a spoken word rant about wokeness.<\/p>\n Morrissey shared the 12-song tracklist on social media yesterday. The reason for the switch hasn\u2019t been given, but Moz shared with Teraz Rock earlier this year that \u201cThe second album will be released first.\u201d Whether that means Bonfires of Teenagers <\/em>will someday be released afterwards is unclear.<\/p>\n\n Since recording albums, Morrissey has been on an infamous tour cycle. In September, the singer cancelled a show in Ottawa due to a BlueSky threat. In November, the \u2018I Know It\u2019s Over\u2019 singer would cancel his entire South American tour (which featured make-good dates for shows previously cancelled), citing \u201cextreme exhaustion<\/a>\u201c<\/p>\n Morrissey is also expected to appear on A$AP Rocky\u2019s long-delayed album<\/a>, Don\u2019t Be Dumb, which is set for release on January 16, 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
