Reality TV fans are mourning after a \u201cBig Brother\u201d star died at age 35.<\/p>\n

Mickey Lee, who was a contestant on the CBS show\u2019s most recent season, died on Christmas Day, her family announced \u201cwith profound sadness.\u201d TMZ<\/a> reports Lee had been hospitalized in the ICU after suffering multiple heart attacks due to complications from the flu.<\/p>\n

\u201cMickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on \u2018Big Brother,\u2019 <\/i>where her authenticity, strength and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike. She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen,” her family said in a statement<\/a>. \u201cMickey\u2019s light, legacy and impact will never be forgotten.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the celebrity.land<\/a>, Lee was an Atlanta-based event curator originally from Jacksonville, Florida. She appeared on season 27 of \u201cBig Brother,\u201d and was the eighth contestant to be evicted; fellow houseguest Ashley Hollis was voted the winner in September.<\/p>\n

\u201cI prefer it this way,\u201d Lee told Gold Derby<\/a> after her elimination. \u201cI get to go out and live my life a little bit before coming back for finale.\u201d<\/p>\n

A GoFundMe<\/a> created on Dec. 22 said Lee \u201csuffered a series of cardiac arrests\u201d and was in critical but stable condition. More than $30,000 was raised to help her family with medical bills and Lee\u2019s \u201congoing care and recovery costs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fellow cast members said they were devastated by the loss.<\/p>\n
